Flavio Comim is a development economist. He is a Associate Professor of Economy at the Ramon Llull University, in Barcelona, where he is a Professor of Economy, and an Affiliated Lecturer in Human Development in the Department of Land Economy, University of Cambridge. He was previously an Anjunct Professor at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (FURGS), Brazil. Flavio is a VHI Research Associate and Visiting Fellow of St Edmund’s College, where he has been a Fellow, College Lecturer and Director of Studies in Economics for many years, as well as Director of the Capability and Sustainability Centre at Von Hügel Institute until 2008.
He has worked for the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Brazil and has served as a consultant to other UN agencies, such as the World Health Organization (WHO), the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).
