Present

Our annual themed event series brings leading thinkers and practitioners from around the world to spark the imagination of the leaders of tomorrow. Graduate students of our university will be these leaders and are involved in organising and participating in our events

Our international and interdisciplinary research team

  • pursues high quality academic research resulting in books, articles, and reports
  • maximises the societal impact of the VHI through media dissemination
  • cooperates with governmental and church bodies, as well as NGOs.
  • tackles a wide array of crucial contemporary issues: migration, patenting of genetic material, understandings of health and ill-health, human dignity, gender, and inter-religious relations in the 21st century.

We collaborate internationally

  • our research networks—for instance the Centre for Catholic Social Thought and Practice—link many bodies engaged in promoting and developing catholic social thinking for the third millennium.
  • we are developing partnerships with universities around the world—for instance Australian Catholic University—for enhanced collaborative research with global reach and impact.
  • we publish Reviews in Religion and Theology—the leading international reviews journal for religion, theology, and ethics—in association with Wiley-Blackwell.
