Von Hügel Institute

for Critical Catholic Inquiry

St Edmund's College is celebrating International Women’s Day on Friday 8 March (5.00pm – 6.45pm) with a panel of inspiring speakers from across the College community discussing 'What creates an inclusive community?'.

Introduced by the Master, Catherine Arnold OBE, speakers include VHI's Research Associate Rev Dr Carole Irwin, Dr Kristen Macaskill, Dr Jordan Moxey, Ms Nqobile Msomi, and Ms Tehreem Qureshi.

Carole is an ordained minister in the British Methodist Church, a Research Associate of the Von Hügel Institute at St Edmund’s College and a Research Fellow of the University of Aberdeen. She was Director of Studies at Wesley House in the Cambridge Theological Federation until 2021 and studied Italian and French at King’s as an undergraduate. She’s a member of Lyn’s House, a Cambridge-based Christian community of people with and without intellectual disabilities.

Carole is currently lead researcher for Growing in Friendship, a participative research project with Lyn’s House. Based in Aberdeen University’s centre for Spirituality, Health and Disability, the project is investigating what characterises Lyn’s House, the experience of belonging to it, and the potential for other such communities elsewhere.
