VHI Senior Research Associate, Professor Heidemarie Winkel (University of Bielefeld) has recently edited a special issue of European Societies (Journal of the European Sociological Association) on The Social Dynamics of Religion in the Public Domain (ESA Vol 17 Iss. 5, 2017, guest edited by Heidemarie Winkel and Gladys Ganiel).

This issue includes contributions on religion in European constitutions and the European parliament, religion and homosexuality, Muslims in the public sphere, populism and identity politics.
