Von Hügel Institute

for Critical Catholic Inquiry

VHI Director Vittorio Montemaggi contributed to the Berkley Forum of the Berkley Center for Religion, Peace, and World Affairs at Georgetown University with an essay on "Dante, Hell and Human Encounter".

This contribution is part of this year's series Dante: A Prophet of Hope, which marks 700 years since the death of Dante and explores the role of Catholic faith in his oeuvre, as well as the lessons Dante provides for the challenges facing global society today.

The Berkley Forum is an online platform for public scholarship and informed commentary at the intersection of religion and world affairs. Each series of essays brings together a diversity of experts to engage in rigorous debate on a religious or ethical issue of global significance.
