The Stories we tell: Solidarity and Disability in Communities of Care

Professor Lorraine Krall McCrary (Wabash College), currently a Visiting Scholar at St Edmund's College, will present a book manuscript on the topic of disability, community, and care at the University of Notre Dame, Rome on Friday, 24 May, 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm (CEST).

McCrary's work focuses on communities of care that include those with disabilities. This lecture is part of the "Disability, Knowledge and the University" research project, which explores expansively the nature of knowledge from the perspective of disability studies and disability experiences, with an ultimate goal to develop new epistemic and narrative resources for shared understanding, encounter, and belonging, and towards a better, more inclusive future. The research project is co-sponsored by Notre Dame Rome, the Nanovic Institute for European Studies, and the Von Hügel Institute at Cambridge University.
