In June the VHI had two days of exciting meetings in Cambridge with Prof Brad Gregory, Director of the Notre Dame Institute for Advanced Study, and Dr Don Stelluto, the Associate Director, about future collaboration between our two institutes.
The foundations were laid for multiple areas of collaboration which will likely include academic networking between the academic communities of Notre Dame and Cambridge, reciprocal fellowship exchanges, joint events in the UK and USA, and joint research projects. More detailed news on all this will be online in the next few months.
At the end of the visit we gave Brad and Don a poster commemorating our discussions and ongoing collaboration. The poster was letterpress printed by one of the fellows of St Edmund’s College, Gordon Chesterman (Director of the University of Cambridge Careers Service), using an original linocut by Eric Gill of ‘The Soul and the Bridegroom’ (1927) on a Stephenson Blake proofing press.
The posters will hang in our respective institutes as a sign of our developing relationship.
