Sara Silvestri and Vlado Kmec have been awarded a grant of £5,000 from the
DAAD-University of Cambridge Research Hub in German Studies to organise
a workshop, 'European Migration and the Refugee Crises: Contested
Politics of Social Integration and Identity', to be held in Cambridge on 23-24 June
2016.

The workshop will discuss and analyse refugee and migration
politics, focussing on identity, integration, religion, nation, racism,
extremism, political attitudes and gender in the framework of European
national policies. The conference will bring together scholars of
different disciplines from universities in Bielefeld, Berlin,
Düsseldorf, Frankfurt (Oder), Göttingen, Groningen, Münster, Vienna,
Oxford, and Cambridge. The German partner of the project is Prof Heidemarie
Winkel of the University of Bielefeld. The funding is from the German Federal
Foreign Office.
