VHI researcher Dr Simon Ravenscroft has written an article for ABC Religion & Ethics, entitled 'Patenting Life: Rethinking Social Justice, the Politics of Knowledge and Theologies of Property'. This draws on the findings of our September 'Patents on Life' conference, to set out the relevance of theological thinking, particularly theologies of property, to this area of law:
"By emphasising that private property is not an absolute right, but subordinate to more fundamental social goals, theological ethics provides a vital lens through which to evaluate patent claims."
