
Dr Elif Cetin and Dr Sara Silvestri were invited speakers at the Cambridge RESPOND conference: 'Unpacking the Challenges and Possibilities for Migration Governance', which took place on 17-19 October at Newnham College, Cambridge.
Elif Cetin's paper was titled: 'Turkey's Migration Management: Uncertainties arising from swift changes in the legal framework and the impact of the EU-Turkey statement'. Sara Silvestri's presentation title was: 'What is the Role of the Christian Churches in the Global Governance of Migration?: A case study from the Catholic Church'.
Elif Cetin, who is Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Human and Social Sciences of Yaşar University in Turkey, and a Research Associate at the VHI, was also interviewed for Speaker Spotlight in regard to her research on the politicisation of immigration and her participation to the panel Who will look after us in our old age? at the Cambridge Festival of Ideas on Monday 21 October.
