Professor Maria Burke is awarded Senior Fellowship of the HEA

VHI Research Associate Professor Maria Burke was recently awarded Senior Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy.

Senior Fellowships of the HEA are awarded to professionals who demonstrate that they meet the criteria of the UK Professional Standards Framework (UKPSF) for teaching and supporting learning in higher education. Senior Fellow memberships are awarded to academics with a sustained record of influence ‘beyond the classroom’, whilst engaging effective approaches to teaching, learning and student support.

Maria Burke is Head of Research and Knowledge Exchange, Faculty of Business, Law and Digital Technologies at the University of Winchester, Hampshire. Her research area is in the application of new digital technology to social systems. She is interested in how digital technology impacts on the person and the need for new digital frameworks that will help to analyze digital research in the future.
