Von Hügel Institute

for Critical Catholic Inquiry

The VHI produces and disseminates research across the broadest range of disciplines. We do this through our research seminars, projects and publications; via our themed lectures and our international conferences and workshops; and by promoting student interest and research, all within the setting of the University of Cambridge.

Over the past 30 years, the VHI has also undertaken work on behalf of a wide range of organisations, including the Bishops' Conference of England and Wales, the Holy See’s Mission to the UN, individual Catholic Dioceses, and the Charles Plater Trust, which is part of the Catholic Education Service of England and Wales, the British Government, and Regional Development Agencies.

The Institute welcomes applications from academics in any discipline, and from those working in academic-related fields. Researchers typically come to the Institute to pursue high level academic research, or equivalent projects, connected with the Institute’s mission statement. Expressions of interest should be sent to the VHI Director, Dr Vittorio Montemaggi.
